PERA Day Camp Leader

Salary: $20.00/hr

Position Description:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide exceptional customer service to our guests for our two-week summer Day Camp program in July 2026. As a Day Camp Leader, you will supervise 40-50 children ages 6-12 years old at our facility. We will spend time onsite and offsite for field trips. The first week of Day Camp runs from July 6, 2026 to July 10, 2026. The second week of Day Camp runs from July 13, 2026 to July 17, 2026. We are seeking someone who can work BOTH weeks. The scheduled shifts are all day Monday to Friday with specific timings being determined upon hiring.

Ability to:
  • Effectively communicate with guests, coworkers, and supervisors.
  • Understand and follow oral and written instruction.
  • Supervise children on and offsite, ensuring camp attendee’s safety.
  • Greet parents and children with a positive attitude.
  • Resolve guest issues and answer questions.
  • Listen, communicate, and work effectively with a diverse group of people.
  • Direct age-appropriate activities and games to camp attendees.
  • Work duration of camp - Monday through Friday for two weeks.
  • Work indoors or outdoors for the duration of the shift.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with PERA staff and guests.
  • Assist site lead with setup and tear down of room.
  • Assist site lead with additional duties that may arise during the day.
  • Lift to 30 pounds.
 
Essential Functions:
  • Provides excellent customer service to our guests.
  • Direct supervision of camp attendees.
  • Plan and prepare activities and games for camp attendees.
  • Ensure the safety of all camp attendees, volunteers, coworkers, etc.
  • Support site lead as needed.
  • Must be able to attend paid training for CPR/First Aid Training before camp dates. Date TBD.
 
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Minimum – working towards a bachelor's degree.
  • One year of customer service experience is preferred
  • Experience working with children preferred
 
Licenses/Certifications/Registrations
  • Driver’s License
